Clear and Brilliant Laser

If you would like to reduce early signs of ageing, subtly and effectively, Clear + Brilliant Laser may be the option for you.

Many lasers have been invented to help minimise and improve skin concerns. Clear + Brilliant is categorised as a gentle laser resurfacing treatment, invented by Solta Medical, who also produce the Fraxel Laser.

We have introduced Clear and Brilliant into Erase as a conventional step up from microdermabrasion and for people who seek improvement in texture and tone without the need of worrying about downtime. Clear + Brilliant will give that fresh glow back to your skin for much longer than a fruit peel or microdermabrasion.

Anti Wrinkle Treatment

What are Wrinkles?

Many facial wrinkles occur when we use our muscles to form facial expressions. When we are young our skin springs back to its initial position but as we get older the wrinkles remain.

This is a non surgical procedure where a small amount of natural purified protein is injected into the wrinkle causing muscles to relax. This not only reduces lines and wrinkles, it “softens” the appearance and reduces facial tension.

Only experienced and fully trained medical practitioners carry out these treatments at Erase.

Birth Marks

What are Birth Marks?

Birthmarks are vascular malformations in the skin. Most commonly these are known as “port wine stains” or “strawberry birthmarks” (haemangiomas).

Our Treatment

Birthmarks can be treated effectively with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or vascular lasers. The energy targets the colour in the birthmark, causing the blood vessels to shut down.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

The Dermal fillers used at Erase are primarily Hyaluronic Acid base, which means that it is naturally digested by the body. They help to restore our skin to its former youthful appearance, as the material is injected into areas where it needs to be plumped up again and made to look firmer. Dermal fillers come in different thicknesses, and in general, the thicker the product, the deeper it is injected into the dermal layer of the skin to help plump out fine to deep lines and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds (smile line), fill pitted scars or to give plumpness to cheeks, build a nose bridge, reduce neck and cleavage lines, and help the sunken look under the eyes.

Hyaluronic acid dermal filler is a naturally occurring substance found in the spaces between the cells of body tissues in all animals. It has already been used widely in general medicine to help eye surgeons perform cataract operations, and for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement. It is estimated that 30 million patients around the world have been treated with some form of hyaluronic acid.

Lip Rejuvenation Enhancement

What is Lip Rejuvenation

Exposure to sunlight, and our lifestyle, cause natural substances such as collagen and hyaluronic acid to diminish over time. These provide the skin with structure and volume so any decrease leads to sagging and wrinkling of the skin. Over time our lips thin and the corners of our mouths can begin to droop. The cupid’s bow flattens out and lips lose their youthful fullness. Vertical lip lines that can cause lipstick bleed may also begin to appear.

Our Treatment

Dermal fillers can be used to add volume to your lips, to improve border definition and to create a stronger cupids bow.

We treat Facial Vessels using Intense Pulsed Light(IPL™), which is a breakthrough in medical technology for fading spider veins on the face and other parts of the body.

IPL’s unique and flexible design helps your technician customise treatment to your specific needs. Treatment is safe and effective.

Fraxel Laser

Fraxel is available at Erase Aesthetic Services in Malvern

Fraxel Laser is a new technique in skin rejuvenation using fractional photothermolysis. It provides many of the benefits of invasive skin resurfacing (previously performed with traditional CO2 & erbium lasers) with fewer side effects and less “down time”.
It uses pin point laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin surface to eliminate old, damaged cells. This treatment stimulates the body’s own natural healing process which replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

The new Fraxel Laser RE: STORE DUAL has the advantage of using two different wavelengths.

The1927nm more effectively targets superficial skin layers achieving accelerated clearance of stubborn pigment such as melasma, post inflammatory pigment, and sun damage, whereas the 1550nm wavelength is used for deeper rejuvenation such as treating wrinkles, scar remodeling & for acne scarring.

Rosacea

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common chronic inflammatory disorder characterized by facial redness, dilated capillaries, a burning or tingling sensation and sometimes lesions that look like acne (papules).

The common triggers are sun exposure, certain chemicals in alcohol, temperature changes (i.e. sauna, heaters, air conditioning), hot and spicy food, hormonal changes, exercise and emotional factors (i.e. stress, anger, laughter, crying, embarrassment).

Our Treatment

There is no cure for rosacea, but the symptoms can be controlled effectively with an individual treatment plan and a Jan Marini Skincare Management program.

The treatment of choice is IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). This treatment destroys unsightly blood vessels so they fade and slowly disappear.

Topical agents with anti-inflammatory / antibacterial effects can keep rosacea well under control even during trigger events. Even daily use of an effective sunscreen / antioxidant can result in significant improvement.

Pigmentation

What is Pigmentation

Melanocytes are specialised cells within the epidermis which produce a pigment called melanin. This is distributed throughout the epidermis in small bundles called melanosomes to protect the DNA of skin cells from UV damage. That’s why sun exposure darkens our skin – the more melanocytes in our skin, the easier we tan.

Damage to these cells caused by excessive UV exposure, thermal injury (ie. a burn) or inflammation can result in them behaving abnormally.

Scars

Scars

Scars are areas of fibrous tissue which form when the body heals itself following injury. In the skin, surgery or acne can also leave unsightly scars.

Scars are comprised of collagen deposited in a disorganised pattern. Some scars become raised and red (hypertrophic scars) or can proliferate beyond the borders of the original wound (keloid scars).

We’ve seen solid clinical evidence that scars can be managed very effectively with Fraxel laser.

Leg Veins

What are Leg Veins?

Leg veins or varicose veins are visible bulging veins most commonly seen in the lower legs.

Human heart pumps blood to legs through arteries. After supplying oxygen and nutrients to the legs, blood returns to the heart through the veins. This upward flow of the blood is caused by the muscles in the legs.

Each time calf and thigh muscles contract while a person is walking, the veins deep inside his leg get squeezed. One-way valves help prevent blood from flowing back down the veins.

Blood from the outer layers of your legs flows into superficial veins. It is then connected to deeper veins inside the leg by perforator veins. When blood doesn’t flow properly from the superficial veins to the deep veins, pressure builds up in the superficial veins.

This result in blood collecting/pooling in the veins, and these are called varicose veins/leg veins.

Causes of leg veins

Though the exact reason why leg veins develop is not fully understood, it is commonly believed that is caused due to weak veins. If a person has weak vein walls, this causes the valves in his veins to expand and separate, thus damaging them.

This damage to the valves prevents blood to travel up the veins as easily as it should and results in the leg veins.

Some other causes of the leg veins are old age, obesity, long standing or sitting, and pregnancy.

Varicose and Spider Veins

Varicose and Spider Veins

The causes of varicose vein and spider veins are not entirely understood, however it is known that a weakness of the valves in the veins allows the backward flow of blood. This causes a build up of pressure within the vessel resulting in bulging or bursting of vessel walls.

Our Treatment

Sclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating varicose veins and spider veins. Small injections of a “thrombolytic” solution cause the veins to shut down so they are no longer obvious through the skin. This is particularly effective for superficial spider veins, which fade gradually over the following weeks.
