Photorejuvenation
Photo Rejuvenation Treatment at Erase Aesthetic Services in Malvern
Damage to skin from UV radiation can manifest in a variety of skin changes including red blemishes, spider veins and brown spots. Photo rejuvenation is a method widely used for reducing unwanted dyschromia or discolouration in the skin, to give your skin a flawless complexion.
Photo rejuvenation is performed using a Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, and sometimes a combination of Long pulse Laser and Q-switch Laser. A series of treatments results in a significant reduction in fines lines, unwanted pigmentation, redness and an improvement in the texture and tone of the skin. IPL is popularly used in areas such as the face, neck, decollatage, and hands.
Our Treatment
An individual treatment plan combined with Jan Marini Skin Research product will enahnce your treatment outcome with long lasting results.
Vascular and Pigmentary lasers use an intense beam of light to remove unwanted chromophore such as broken blood vessels, and angiomas, venous lakes, flushing, freckles, sun spots and moles. We have several lasers and Medical IPL for this purpose, and will perform the procedure that is best suited for the patient’s skin type and desirable outcome. For example, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is used to treat broken blood vessels and freckling on the face, chest, arms and hands. For overall rejuvenation, a larger spot size is used to treat the entire face. For lentigines, café-au-lait macules, Seborrheic keratosis and dermal pigmentation, we may also treat with a Q-switch laser, Long pulse laser. Our specialist may also advise on a skincare regimen that will help maximise your treatment outcome.
FAQ
How many treatments will I need?
Each person is assessed individually. Usually a course of 3-4 consecutive treatments a month apart will fade most dyschromia and unevenness. A yearly maintenance treatment will help to sustain the results.
What should I expect on the day of the treatment?
A typical full face treatment takes 15 minutes. While it is a short duration, please keep in mind that your booking is made for 30-45 minutes per session. This is to enable your specialist to provide a relaxing experience, to keep your treatment area under the cooler which can help minimise any discomfort felt and to thoroughly discuss pre and post care. The sensation felt from an IPL treatment is best be described as a quick, flick of a rubber band on the skin. In most patients, the Some redness, bruising or localised swelling may occur after treatment but this is usually minor.
When should I expect to see any results?
If pigmentation was treated, it takes approximately 5-7 days (facial area), 7-14 days (body area) to peel off. During this healing process, you will take care in adequately hydrating the area and to apply sunscreen protection in the day time.
For the treatment for noticeable vessels, angioma, and telangiectasias, the fading occurs within the skin, and results should be apparant after 10-14 days. When treating dilated vessels, it takes several attempts to coagulate it completely, so you may notice that they appear slightly fainter, but not diminished. This is also the reason why you need a series of treatments in order to achieve results.
What should I avoid 24-48 hours after the treatment?
At Erase, your clinician will provide you with an aftercare sheet. Some of the obvious things to avoid immediately post treatment is to refrain from drinking alcohol excessively, taking a hot bath, sauna, facial, waxing, shaving, and swimming.
